At Wild Hide, we work with leathers selected for their character, their feel, and above all, for the way they evolve over time.

Authentic leather doesn't stay the same. It changes with you.

Light, friction, natural skin oils, water, and every day of use gradually transform its surface. The color may deepen, some areas may become shinier, and small marks will appear, making each piece unique.

We do not consider these changes imperfections.

They are the patina.

VEGETABLE-TANNED LEATHER

A large part of our products are made from Italian vegetable-tanned leather from some of the most renowned tanneries.

Unlike synthetic materials or completely sealed finishes, vegetable-tanned leather retains a natural character and continues to evolve throughout its life.

With use, it may:

• Darken slightly.

• Acquire greater color depth.

• Become softer and more flexible.

• Develop shiny areas due to friction.

• Show small marks and tone variations.

Each piece ages differently depending on how and where it is used.

This process is precisely part of its beauty.

BADALASSI CARLO PUEBLO

Pueblo is one of our most characteristic leathers.

Made in Italy using vegetable tanning, it initially has a matte and slightly velvety surface that changes notably with use.

Contact with the skin and friction gradually polish its surface. The colors acquire greater depth, and the leather develops a natural sheen and a very personal patina.

A new piece of Pueblo and the same piece after months or years of use can look considerably different.

That's exactly what we're looking for.

An object that doesn't just age, but tells the story of how it has been used.

LEATHER AND WATER

Authentic leather can occasionally come into contact with water, but it is not a waterproof material.

A small splash or accidental wetting does not necessarily mean the leather will be damaged. In some leathers, especially vegetable-tanned ones, water can temporarily darken the surface and contribute over time to the formation of patina.

However, we recommend avoiding prolonged immersion and frequent exposure to water.

Specifically, we recommend avoiding:

• Regularly showering or bathing with the item.

• Swimming with it in pools.

• Keeping it submerged for long periods.

• Frequent exposure to saltwater.

• Drying it with direct heat sources.

Water, salt, and repeated wetting and drying cycles can gradually remove some of the leather's natural oils and cause it to become stiffer or drier.

IF YOUR PIECE GETS WET

Don't worry.

Gently remove excess water with a clean, dry cloth, without rubbing intensely.

Then let the leather air dry naturally at room temperature.

Do not use hair dryers, radiators, or other direct heat sources, and avoid leaving the item in direct sunlight while it is wet.

Once completely dry, the leather will regain its natural feel.

In some cases, a slight variation in tone may remain.

That too can become part of its patina.

SHELL CORDOVAN

Shell Cordovan is an exceptional leather, known for its density, durability, and particular way of aging.

With use, it develops a deep, characteristic shine instead of the more pronounced patina of other vegetable-tanned leathers.

Although it has great resistance, it should not be considered waterproof.

We recommend avoiding prolonged immersion and, if it gets wet, letting it dry naturally before using any maintenance product.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR WILD HIDE

The best care is often the simplest.

Use your item and let it age naturally.

Avoid prolonged exposure to water, chemicals, perfumes, detergents, and intense heat sources.

If the leather collects dust or superficial dirt, use a soft, dry cloth.

Over time, if you notice the leather is particularly dry, a very small amount of a suitable conditioner for vegetable-tanned leather can be applied. Please note that some maintenance products may permanently darken the color.

When in doubt, less is more.

MARKS ARE PART OF THE STORY

Natural leather may show small variations in color, texture, grain, or marks.

It will also change with use.

Two pieces made with the same leather will never evolve in exactly the same way.

For us, that is not a flaw to be hidden.

It is one of the reasons we choose to work with authentic leather.

Your Wild Hide will be different a year from now.

And it will probably be even more yours.
