LEATHER TYPE

Shell Cordovan leather is exceptionally durable. The pores are so dense on the horse's back that they are not visible to the naked eye. This leather is naturally water-resistant (though not waterproof) and elastic. Shell Cordovan is a truly rare and unique material. It possesses an intense sheen, a texture that does not wrinkle, a pleasant leather aroma, and the ability to develop and maintain these characteristics over time. Since wrinkles can cause cracks in the leather, its tendency to ripple rather than crease helps preserve the surface and the overall durability of the footwear. Furthermore, Shell Cordovan ages very well and develops a particularly beautiful patina over time. The leather itself does not take much dye, so it is mainly found in dark shades of brown, black, and the so-called "cordovan" color, which is a dark burgundy.

Cordovan leather is the quintessential product made from horsehide, using a particular process (100% vegetable tanning).
